Challenge:
Create a visual identity for Mark Makers, a community space project aiming to transform a disused bowling green into a welcoming hub. The challenge was to advertise the project, establish an online presence, and communicate democratic community ownership while appealing to a diverse local audience.
Approach:
Through research and collaboration with the community, we developed a fun, engaging, and playful visual identity influenced by the area’s title, ‘The Garden Suburb’ and the site itself. It instantly grabbed attention and could be easily embraced and owned by the community.
Outcome:
The visual identity successfully built awareness and motivated volunteers, inspiring action and community pride. Mark Makers achieved their goal of transforming “The Common” into a thriving and welcoming space, now known as “The Bowling Green.” The identity played a crucial role in establishing a transparent and welcoming entity for the project’s success.
